Job Search Tip

It is rather discomforting to see that companies are playing games with potential employees within their employment contracts on a more frequent basis. As a jobseeker, you are so excited to get a job offer, whether contract or traditional full time, and now the company screws with you on pay, benefits, and/or job details.

From overly rigid, new policies that suddenly pop up in the middle of negotiations, to being catfished on salary, bonus, and benefits, this is all too common. Oh, and if the jobseeker questions it, you rescind the offer.

It ranges from horrible vacation and sick time benefits – like two weeks for all PTO, to a switch in salary to a lower number, to it not being the job you stated in the ad. Then you have the gall to wonder why your reviews on Indeed suck.

So, if you start getting detail in a job offer that make you pause and think twice about taking the role – trust your intuition.
